Have your say on design of new rugby league stadium

The concept design for a new rugby league stadium in Darwin is underway, with the Northern Territory Government fast-tracking $25 million for the construction of the stadium at Warren Park.

The site for the new stadium is Warren Park, off Abala Road within the Marrara sporting precinct.

The new stadium will be a significant step forward for rugby league in Darwin, allowing Territorians to play and watch the sport at a purpose-built facility.

A steering committee has been established to oversee the design phase of the new stadium and includes representatives from NRL NT, NRL, NT Rugby Union, South Darwin Sporting League and associated clubs.

The committee has been tasked with generating a design that fits the purpose of the facility, provides for the development of the sport locally and is financially sustainable into the future.

Key features of the proposed design

The NT Government has consulted closely with the key stakeholders in this project, to develop the proposed design of the new Warren Park.

The key features of the proposed design include:

  • three full sized fields one to national standard
  • 1500 capacity grandstand facilities
  • NRL compliant change room facilities
  • corporate facilities
  • food facilities
  • over 600 car parks
  • flexibility to host other events.
