- Significant reviews of mental health service systems in recent years have highlighted the strong evidence that listening to and working in partnership with people with lived experience leads to better outcomes and better services
- The Framework will provide guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff in NT Health about the importance of respectful and meaningful engagement with people with lived experience, in both mental health and suicide prevention services
- The Framework also guides action to support engagement with the diversity of lived experience in the NT, to ensure that stigma is reduced and recovery is supported

Who is the Lived Experience Framework for?
This Framework puts forward a shared vision for substantive change in the culture, leadership and structures that underpin the mental health and social services systems in the NT.
The Framework is a guide for services and will be implemented in each service setting and/or region uniquely, depending on the regions needs and demographics.
