Review of multicultural peak bodies

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is seeking feedback on the services provided by multicultural peak bodies, Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia (MCSCA) and the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory (MCNT).

Background

The Northern Territory Government is committed to fostering the prosperity of diverse communities throughout the region.

MCNT and MCSCA receive operational funding from the Northern Territory Government, through the OMA Multicultural Grants Program, to support the delivery of programs and services to ensure the successful settlement and full participation of people from migrant and multicultural backgrounds in the Northern Territory.

Service review

We are reviewing the services provided by MCSCA and MCNT.

The purposes of this review are to:

• find out how effective existing services are
• identify areas of success
• pinpoint areas that require additional support.

Findings from this review will inform decision-making around funding of programs and services for multicultural communities across the Territory.

Have your say

We want to hear from:

• MCNT and MCSCA’s main clientele
• other non-government organisations with similar clientele
• MCNT and MCSCA’s members
• all cultural organisations/associations in the Territory (whether or not they are a member of a peak body).

We want to know what you think about:

• what a multicultural peak body should be doing for multicultural communities across the Territory
• MCNT and MCSCA’s strengths and areas of improvement
• the services offered by MCNT and MCSCA
