PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Northern Territory Government has embarked on the development of a 10 Year Museums Master Plan for Darwin and Palmerston to identify cultural infrastructure gaps and priorities, primarily focused on museums, galleries, libraries, art centres and keeping places.
The cultural landscape of Darwin and Palmerston is characterised by a variety of experiences. Across these areas there are a number of important and significant cultural assets under consideration.
To ensure these facilities can best tell the stories of the past and present, reflecting our cultural identity, this initial phase considers all stakeholder and community interests for integration within the Plan.
The final Master Plan will:
Support efforts to revitalise the Darwin and Palmerston CBD’s and contribute to lifting the Northern Territory’s tourism product
Review the existing cultural facilities and related activities in Darwin and Palmerston to assess future needs
Align an agreed vision and aspirations for the future development of cultural infrastructure
Provide a strategic framework to guide cultural infrastructure investment in both Darwin and Palmerston
CONSULTATION
We encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas by completing the survey below.
Closing date for feedback in this first phase is 6 October 2017.
