The Department of Lands, Planning and Environment is responsible for managing the assessment and approval of Environmental (Mining) Licence (licence) applications under the Environment Protection Act 2019 (the Act) and the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.

Under the Act, a licence is required to undertake a mining activity. The type of mining activity proposed will determine the type of licence required. Applications for a modified or tailored condition licence are required to be publicly exhibited as below
