How many courts will the new stadium have?

    The new Darwin Indoor Netball Stadium will have four national standard netball courts.

    Where will the new stadium be built?

    The preferred site for the new stadium is at the Current Darwin Netball Complex land adjacent to the current 10 outdoor courts off Abala road in Marrara. The proposed new indoor stadium will not impact on any existing facilities or car parking at the current netball complex.

    What are the environmental considerations at the proposed site?

    An environmental management plan will be developed prior to works commencing. 

    Who is on the project steering committee?

    Representatives from the Department of Tourism and Culture, the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics and Netball NT.

    Will the new stadium just be used for netball?

    Yes, the new stadium will be primarily used for Netball however; there may be opportunity for other sports to work on programing in consultation with Netball NT.

    When does consultation on the design close?

    Feedback on the proposed design closes on 3 June 2017. The NT Government will then advertise for a design and construct tender through the normal NT Government procurement process.

    How will you use my feedback?

    We value your feedback, which will be fed back through the Steering Committee to inform the final design of the stadium.

    When will you make a decision on the design?

    The design of the stadium will be finalised once the tender has been awarded and worked through with the successful tenderer. The tender will be a design and construct tender.

    When will construction start?

    Construction is expected to start approximately August 2017.
