The EmployAbility Strategy 2018-2022 was developed to improve disability employment outcomes in the Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS). The strategy has now concluded, and the Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment (OCPE) is in the process of finalising a draft NTPS EmployAbility Strategy 2024-2027.

The draft NTPS EmployAbility Strategy 2024-2027 has been developed in consideration and reflects recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability. To address the recommendations, meet the dynamic needs of the NTPS and drive continuous improvement, the Strategy aims to increase disability employment, reshape workplace attitudes, and promote inclusivity.

The Strategy focuses on removing barriers to participation, improving disclosure rates of disabilities, and sets a target of 8% disability representation by 2027, so that the NTPS is representative of the community we serve. This strategy underscores the NTPS's commitment to equal opportunities and diversity in the workforce.

    If you are providing information through this survey that relates to improper conduct, you have an obligation under the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Act 2017 to report said conduct to the ICAC. Further, OCPE may provide comments made in this survey to the ICAC as part of its obligation to report suspected improper conduct, whether or not the allegation is made anonymously.

    “Improper conduct is conduct that is corrupt, illegal, dishonest, a breach of public trust, a breach of discipline, mismanagement of NTG resources, or substantial mismanagement generally.”
