Overview
Woodroffe Oval is an important community sports and recreation space in Palmerston. The Northern Territory Government has committed $6.45 million to redevelop the oval and surrounding facilities.
The Department of People, Sport and Culture is working with the Palmerston Cricket Club (PCC), AFLNT and the broader community to shape the future of the site.
We want to make sure the redevelopment:
supports community use now and into the future
is cost-effective and easy to maintain
welcomes a variety of sporting and community groups
reflects the needs and ideas of local people.
Your feedback will help shape the design and operation of the new facility. We’re especially keen to hear from current users of the oval, residents, schools, sporting clubs and community groups. Please provide your feedback by COB 29 August 2025.
About the site
Woodroffe Oval is located on Lot 4132, Town of Palmerston. It is on Crown land managed by the Department of People Sport and Culture.
The adjacent Lot 4626, which includes a training facility and clubhouse, is owned under a Crown Lease in Perpetuity by the Palmerston Cricket Club.
