Parks and Wildlife is seeking public feedback on the draft Code of Practice for Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release of Protected Wildlife in the Northern Territory (the Code).
The Code sets out the minimum standards for looking after protected wildlife, including what kind of enclosures should be used, how animals should be cared for and the right way to release them back into the wild.
Once finalised, these standards will apply to everyone who holds a wildlife carers permit.
This consultation is your chance to have a say. By sharing your feedback, you can help make sure the final Code is practical, fair and supports the best outcomes for native wildlife.
