Help shape the future of the Tracy Village Sporting Precinct
A comprehensive master plan is being developed to guide the future of the Tracy Village Sporting Precinct in Lyons.
The redevelopment aims to expand and modernise facilities for multiple sports, deliver a long-awaited home ground for Hellenic Athletic Club and support the growth of grassroots sport in Darwin’s northern suburbs. It will provide improved playing surfaces, competition standard lighting and inclusive facilities for AFL and cricket. These upgrades are designed to enhance user experience and grow participation.
Ashford Lamaya Architects (ALA) and D&P Management have been engaged to create a master plan that will modernise and upgrade the precinct in line with community needs.
The redevelopment will be delivered in 3 stages:
Stage 1 involves upgrades for baseball, softball and football (soccer) including:
development of a master plan for the precinct and costings for future stages
establishing playing fields, including installation of lighting
developing a clubhouse and gender inclusive change facilities to serve as a home ground for the Hellenic Athletic Club
providing irrigation and power upgrades to support facilities
identified reconfiguring and upgrading works to existing baseball and softball fields to accommodate the expansion of football facilities.
Stage 2 involves upgrades to AFL and cricket facilities, including:
improvements to playing surfaces
installing gender inclusive and all abilities changerooms
enhancing lighting to meet competition standards
providing irrigation and power upgrades to support facilities.
Stage 3 involves the feasibility of upgrades to netball and basketball facilities including:
constructing undercover facilities
parking and landscaping.
