Consultation has concluded
We have released the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Framework Discussion Paper to seek your feedback, ideas and information on what you expect the first-ever Northern Territory Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Framework to achieve.
Your responses to the questions raised in this paper will help us develop local and Territory-wide solutions to prevent and respond to sexual violence.
The discussion paper outlines some of what we know about sexual violence, what we have already heard about dealing with sexual violence and the priority areas we think are important.
We have already been told that healing, safety, access to immediate help, treatment and recovery, prevention, justice, accountability and reconnection are important considerations. We have also been told that:
We want to hear from everyone in the community, including people who have experienced or are experiencing sexual violence, people who have committed sexual violence and people who provide sexual violence and related services.
We are holding public workshops and face to face consultations in our major regional centres to discuss your views and will advise when the next session is scheduled.

What happens next
Feedback and suggestions from the public will be collated and analysed with other submissions and feedback to inform the development of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Framework, which, when approved will be made public on the Territory Families website.
