Northern Territory arts and culture infrastructure survey 2023

The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities is working in partnership with Arnhem, Northern and Kimberley Artists (ANKA) and Desart to understand the status, needs and priorities of arts and cultural infrastructure in the Northern Territory.

This survey asks questions about the infrastructure needs of the Indigenous arts and culture industry and Aboriginal-owned art and culture centres in the Northern Territory.

Feedback received through this survey will be used to inform plans that support Aboriginal art and culture in the Northern Territory.

Background

Aboriginal-owned art and culture centres are integral to a strong, ethical and sustainable Indigenous visual arts industry and the continued development of Aboriginal art and culture.

Sustainable and inclusive facilities not only support best practice in industry, business and service delivery, but also provide significant cultural, social and economic benefits for Aboriginal artists, arts workers and communities.

Have your say

We want to hear from people who work in Aboriginal art and culture centres based in the Northern Territory.

We want to know:

• how your centre currently operates
• what facilities your centre has
• the types of art made and cultural services provided at your centre
• future infrastructure priorities for your centre.

Your responses will be shared with your representative peak body - ANKA in the Top End and Desart in Central Australia.

Submissions will close at 11:00 pm on Sunday 19 November 2023.
