EPs 144 153 154 Environment Management Plan
On 28 January 2026, Top End Energy Ltd submitted an Environment Management Plan (EMP) for assessment, under the Petroleum (Environment) Regulations 2016.
As part of the assessment process, the EMP was published for comment on 11 February 2026.
Comments close on 11 March 2026.
The EMP proposes a scope of activities on the Alexandria pastoral station within exploration permit (EP) 144, Nutwood Downs pastoral station within EP153 and on the Mangarrayi Aboriginal Land Trust within EP154.
Your submission will be considered in the decision-making of this EMP by the NT Government and the Minister for Lands, Planning and Environment.
Scope of activities
The EMP includes the following scope of activities:
- Drilling of 2 new petroleum wells
- Re-drilling of 2 petroleum wells
- Acquiring up to 200 km of 2D seismic data
- Associated civil works including:
- Establishing 16 km of access tracks
- One well pad and drill cutting sump
- Establishing 3 temporary camps
- Establishing 2 gravel pits
Other ancillary infrastructure.
