Gender Equality Consultation Document
The Northern Territory Government has released a consultation document for the development of the Northern Territory’s first Gender Equality Framework. The consultations will seek to understand gender inequalities in the Northern Territory and how these affect the everyday lives of all Territorians and will explore some of the solutions or activities that could be undertaken to address or minimize these inequalities.
The consultation document has four main areas of focus, including:
Safety
Health and wellbeing
Economic security
Leadership and participation
How to have your say
Have your say by reading the consultation document and providing feedback by completing the online survey below and/or making a submission. A submission can be as short and informal as a letter, email, or phone call or can take the form of a more substantial document. Submissions may choose to address all or some of the matters identified in the consultation document or may choose to focus on other relevant areas of gender equality that may not have been covered in the consultation document. All Territorians are encouraged to provide input.
What happens next
Following consultations, the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity will collate and analyse the submissions, surveys and other feedback received to inform development of Northern Territory’s Gender Equality Framework. The Framework will be used to influence policy development and decisions, and the development of relevant and sensitive approaches to improve gender equality among Territorians.
