Central Palmerston Area Plan

CPAP

The Northern Territory Planning Commission is commencing Stage 1 of a three-stage planning process and wants to hear the community’s vision for the Central Palmerston Area.

An Area Plan is a tool to guide decision making into the future; guiding land use and development of future growth; transforming retail and living space to attract people to live, work and play here. Simply put, it helps us plan for the future.

The draft Area Plan is important to help achieve a long-term vision for the Palmerston city centre and surrounds.

Developing an Area Plan needs stakeholder involvement—it’s your City Centre!

North Link Focus Area
This locality is ideal for a bold, entry statement to the city and has a critical role in connecting the Gateway Shopping Centre with the CBD.

The CBD Focus Area
The introduction of residents to the CBD will bring a new level of activity to the civic and business heart. Strong linkages between destinations are essential to establish a vibrant city centre.

South Side Focus Area
This locality has the opportunity to become a high-amenity precinct as a transition from the CBD to the adjacent low density residential suburbs.
