The Planning Commission has now completed the second stage of community consultation on a draft Area Plan for Central Palmerston which closed on Friday 7 August 2020.

Stage Two consultation was an opportunity to build on the vision expressed by community in Stage One of consultation and to provide long-term guidance for land use and development in both residential and commercial land in Central Palmerston. Feedback that was captured can be found in the Stage Two Consultation Report.

Stage Three is the final stage of the project. The Planning Commission has finalised and recommend the Area Plan and associated documents to the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics for public exhibition as a proposed amendment to the Northern Territory Planning Scheme.

The Minister for Infrastructure Planning and Logistics has placed the Central Palmerston Area Plan on statutory exhibition as a proposal to amend the NT Planning Scheme 2020. The Area Plan will be on exhibition for four weeks, with submissions invited to Friday 11 December 2020.
