Consultation has concluded
Vibrant and active public spaces are essential in all towns. Activate Alice is working with the community to develop public spaces that reflect the diverse and unique nature of our residents, workers and visitors.
In early 2023, we ran a Public Spaces Beautification Program. Members of the public were encouraged to submit their ideas to transform our existing public spaces and make them more vibrant and enjoyable for our community members. A total of eleven submissions were received, with four ideas shortlisted for a public vote.
Centralians have now voted for their favourite ideas. The ideas continue to support the transformation of public spaces, as well as empower local community members to help implement change and create positive action for the town. All four will be implemented over coming months.
The successful ideas are:
A Genestreams interactive augmented reality sculpture in the Todd Mall
An open-air food court in the Supreme Court laneway
A pop-up roller rink in the Todd Mall
Community skate meet up events at Speed Street Skate Park
Additional information will be provided once dates are confirmed for the above projects.
